Have you been out of the workforce for a while?
Consider refreshing your administration skills!
"Education is what remains after one has forgotten what one has learned in school."
Welcome to Work Skills Training, my name is Mel.
I am a qualified trainer & assessor, with an absolute passion for administration and I started Work Skills Training to fill the gap between education theory and adaptive work based skills.
I hold a current TAE40110 and I have delivered and assessed Certificate III & Certificate IV in Business Administration. I have more than 28 years experience working as an administrator across a broad industry base, including transport, manufacturing and job services, to name a few.
I have interviewed and trained office personnel on behalf of companies; I have worked closely with managers in many of my job roles and have a full appreciation of what is ‘expected’ from administration staff.
Through all of my experiences I realised there is a ‘gap’ between what is taught under the banner of the accredited course and what is ‘required and expected’ in an actual administration environment.
Administration covers every industry and job sector. There is not a single company, business or venture without administration. We, the administrators, are the hub of every industry and although there are the specialised fields of administration, e.g. Medical, Human Resources, Accounts, Payroll and so on; the fundamentals of administration remain; without which, trying to break into the specialised administration environments can prove very difficult indeed.
Here at Work Skills Training we have designed and developed a 5 week program, structured comprehensively around the fundamental skills required to work in administration. We bridge the gap!
From a true perspective of ‘customer service’, basic typing skills through to working with excel spreadsheets; the program provides the opportunity to take up new skills or brush up on out dated or forgotten ones.
Please note: This program is not a certified course and although Work Skills Training will issue a certificate of recognition upon completion, we are not an RTO.
